This 1940 two stroke DKW motorcycle has been restored on a moderate level by a shop in Europe. When the bike arrived here a year ago we fixed a bunch of things on it and made it better than what it was. We started replacing the carb with a correct NEW rebuilt Bing model and the correct Knecht Air cleaner. A new battery and battery box was added along with a new battery tray including the battery straps. The Coil box is the correct box for the bike and is original still and it works. I searched long and hard to get the correct control box and this was not easy. We also placed an Original switch on the tank with the correct Original key, this was almost impossible to find this key and switch. New rubber stops were added under the battery tray, knee pads on the tank, foot pegs, grips, handle bars, etc. We wired the motorcycle with all new cloth wire and matched the wires up with the electrical plan. I threw away all of the old modern wire and tossed it in the trash. We added a new fuel petcock on the bike and this is also correct and better than the garbage you see out there on so many motorcycles. The motorcycle has new plates and the correct markings on the plates. We really made this bike so much better and you can still fine tune it to even better than what it is. The motorcycle has good tires, tubes. The motorcycle runs and shifts into all gears and appears to be in working order. I have fixed alot of items on the bike for the last owner and he never rode the bike after we did everything, it sat in our shop. So now he wants to sell the bike because of money, his loss is your gain. This is a great motorcycle to own and ride. Current CA plates and tags with a clear title.
